TIP #1: GO FOR DIFFERENT LENGTHS FOR A GOOD GOLD LAYER NECKLACE STYLE

There are a lot of different ways to create a layered necklace look. One of them is to choose one color or metal type, like gold, and build around it. To get started, take a base piece like a choker, that’s close to your neck. Then add more gold necklaces of different lengths, so that each one stands out. For example, you can begin with something like the gold plated Gatsby Name Necklace on a shorter chain and layer it with a longer Luna Round Necklace plated in 18k gold. To this you can add a thick gold chain, gorgeous gold colored beads, or pretty much any gold necklace you please. The key here is the cascading effect, created with a combo of long and short chains. By the way, a great silver layered necklace look (which we also love!) is created the exact same way, by substituting a combination of different length silver necklaces for gold. For a little inspiration, you can start with the A to Z Choker in silver and proceed from there.

TIP #2: COMBINE METALS AND STYLES TO CREATE SOMETHING UNIQUE

When it comes to layering necklaces, almost anything works. That means you can go with all gold, as suggested above, or combine materials and styles as you see fit. Have fun trying different things to create interesting contrasts that work amazingly well. For example, you can mix silver styles with the gold plated Pillar Bar Necklace, pearl strands with diamond pendants, and different textured chains like cable, rolo, snake or rope. In addition to different metals, stones, colors, weights and lengths, you can even combine costs. That means wear some “junk jewelry” like plastic beads with something more valuable like the gold plated Pop Up Initial Necklace as your center piece. The secret to success for staying on-trend is to have fun, and feel free to get as creative as you like.

TIP #3: USE ODDS TO BUILD THE PERFECT LAYERED NECKLACE SET

Two is a pair, so if you want to create a layered effect, we suggest you go with three or more. Some would even say that three is the magic number, solidly sticking to what’s been dubbed the “rule of three”. Similarly, other ladies are huge advocates of odds. That is, any combination of necklaces layered together works, so long as it’s done in odd numbers. There is something to that logic with sets of three or five often looking best. But our own research has found that it’s not a rule set in stone. So long as you wear it with confidence and rock the style, any number of necklaces when worn together works. So now that you know what to do, it’s time to give it a try. Layer up your necklaces and get your phone ready, to snap your style and show your friends how you’re wearing one of spring’s hottest trends.
